I've been given a Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista home premium. I can't delete anything from it as I don't have the account password and the previous owner can't remember it. Does anyone know how to get round this problem ?.

Do you have the rescue disk?
That's the best way.
Otherwise, there are ways to do it but it's a faff, or will cost a bit for an app.
Google will give you any number of tutorials or links to paid applications.
But, do you want the contents of the hard drive?
If not, then just wipe the drive and start afresh.
Perhaps fit an SSD while your on and give it a speed boost.

Use the "Net Users" hack
look up How To Enable The Administrator Account On Windows Vista & Windows 7 on youtube

No I don't have a rescue disk and I don't particularly want to save any content other than windows. I've just been given it as it was being dumped. I want to save windows and use it to play some older games that won't work on my Mac.

Offline NT Password and Registry Editor will also work if you can boot from cd or floppy
