Hi I have a 2016 GSA and no problem in finding an ignition supply , but a mate wants to wire in a sat nav on his 2011 GS
There is no 12v socket next to the clocks so can anybody suggest best place to pick up supply ideally ignition switched
Thanks:thumb2

If you look behind/underneath the clocks, you should find a live-with-ignition canbus socket just waiting to have a Nippy Norman's lead plugged into it for this purpose.

Thanks been reading some old forums and just remembered I have the socket in my garage ,I used it on my Gt1200 hope it is the same one will see when he comes round

Headlight supply is switched and the gps is only a very low amperage

To use the headlight you will need relay. Wiring it in direct will confuse the canbus.

A relay makes sense anyway as you can drive a busbar fuse box, but that needs to be under the seat so just use the under seat Canbus controlled power wire.
