Firstly - it's my mates idea - honestly :nenau

3 of us are looking at doing an all inclusive coast to coast guided tour across the USA next year (2018) on "Harleys" :blast

It's an iconic thing to do, and although I'd rather do our own thing, and on proper bikes, they want to do it on Harleys, have back up and laid out plans to take the hassle (fun) out of it, so I'm looking at options for it.

If anyone can suggest a company to deal with who does this I'd be grateful. I've looked at Easyriders, Orange and Black, and Hadrian's, but I'm sure there will be smaller less well known firms who are just as good/better, so any advice on operator would be appreciated.

Thanks

James

Look at The Lost Adventure UK agent for Eaglerider
End of march beginning of April Orlando to LA heck of a deal not escorted
Did this year going back again next had a ball
Texas might be a bit soggy next time round
There's a FB page as well Tim Orr is the organiser and a gent

Sounds like you're being railroaded into someone else's idea of a holiday. I'd stop and think hard about whether the considerable financial outlay is going to provide you with anything like the satisfaction of doing it 'your' way...

Have a chat to Dave, Detail as below. I found him very helpful and accommodating (all round good egg),

Thanks everyone for your input.

As with all things we have struggled to get something to fit within the dates we can all manage and the times of year we can do thes trips in as there are only a few operators doing guided trips and they only have a few dates available which just don't match up to our other comitments. So it looks like we are now going to have to look at a "loop" of the Wild West as the CTC is just not working out for next year.

Eagleriders is who we will probably end up with doing a guided trip with due to dates/trip/price etc.

Still not set in stone, we are looking at the price just now, having 3 of us is a pain as we get hit for a single suppliment on the accomodation, so we may have to just share the extra cost for it as they don't seem too keen to match up two single riders on a trip to share - I guess it eats into their profits when they can hit you both with a singel suppliment? Looking at 21st of June next year (2018).

Thanks again for your input.

We did a 2 week tour last year with Orange & Black who are UK based and it was brilliant, their tours were organised Stateside by California Sunriders and that is who we have booked direct with for this year.
Orange & Black now have their own set up in America and have split from California Sunriders, but I would still recommend either.
I don't have any direct experience with Eagle Rider, but when we saw them their groups were very big and I don't think you get the same camaraderie as you do with a smaller group.

James,

It's much cheaper to book your own accommodation and go self-guided. I looked at Eaglerider in 2012, but just ended up hiring a bike from them and booked everything else myself. The savings more than paid for the flights :thumby:

We enjoyed it so much, we returned in 2014 (Black Hills, Yellowstone and some of the stuff we missed in 2012) and 2016 (Nor Cal & Oregon), although I booked Mustang convertibles for those trips as a bike is over £2k dearer  I've already booked next years trip in a Corvette Z06 :D
