Clutch lever - suddenly reaching handlebar

Seal out - after about 3 hours in the evening light, the only time the bike is shaded by the house and not in full sunlight. With swarms of mozzies battling us as we wrecked all four of the seal-picks. Neil said get a strong one - Best of British hardened stainless on Amazon at €115. The picks I got were Chinese at €15, so you get what you pay for. Buy cheap - buy twice.

The seal was so rotted by ¿ DOT4 from the failed bearing in the cylinder ? that it came out very reluctantly in four tatty pieces including two separate very stubborn tin rings that were the very devil to extract; clearly part of the original bearing's construction, as well as the tiny ring of curly spring metal that you see in the foto 2nd from the left.

This job is where you realise that you shouldn't ever contemplate it without the aid of a bike-lift platform. Lying on the ground trying to use the flashlight with one hand and the pick with the other, with your head jammed up against the final drive hub, is not a pleasant experience. Apart from the annoyance of the sodding mozzies in your ear all the time.

No, Mo's job of slave cylinder replacement and seal replacement is being done by a workshop.

Lesson learnt.
