I'm hoping to tap into the vast amount of airhead knowledge available here.....

I have a R80ST and am looking for the best way to upgrade the standard headlight to give better output as mine is poor to say the least... (its the standard headlight lens and reflector in the standard bowl)
I would like to keep the original bowl, but upgrade the output.

What's the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

The reflector is apparently too shallow for either a hid or led bulb - no first hand experience to be honest.

I would just add a couple of good led spots that come on with the high beam.

Are you upgrading to make yourself more visible to other road users or to see better in the dark" if the former I'd suggest those spots be wired to an ignition power source so they stay on all the time but have a switch so that they can be switched off when you don't want to dazzle people at night. If the latter or course the suggestion of wiring to high beam is spot on.

For a suggestion on My R100GSPD I have fitted two flood LEDs that come on with dip and two spot LEDs that come on with main at 10w each they don't put the system under too much stress and can be run all the time as DRLs awell as improving night time lighting.
