2017 model discounting (though not in UK as far as I know)

I suspect, that if you are stood in a dealer with a pocket full of cash.... Deals are to be had.
 
Well in Germany they prefer cash, they even said they where keeping the 500 euro note because its a german right to pay in cash, and trust me when I sold the Fatbob buyer came with brand new 500 euro notes, I took them to BMW to buy my new 1200GS, not even a blink of the eye, just a nice smile, and coffee served.

Dealers don't want cash. Its a pain to handle and they miss out on their kick-backs from finance companies.
 
It was just a term of reference, that if you are in a position to buy, deals can be done. Even if you need PCP.

Oh yes indeedy.
I also find that going in on the last day of the month gets you a good deal.
Last day of the quarter....even better.
