Well after an aborted Euro trip I've finally got out on the bike. Just a quick weekend in Fort Bill.

I love the road out to Mallaig and so decided to treat myself.

Yesterday was rainy but today has more than made up for it.

Took the ferry to Hunters Quay to divert Glasgow.

The road was quiet and with the good weather it was easy to rediscover my biking mojo.

Mixed forecast for tomorrow's return journey but it will not be able to dissolve my perma-grin :)

Love the road and your photos are amazing!

That white cottage you have a picture of at Morar on the road to mallaig I stayed at with Family 21 yrs ago and my youngest lad took really bad and we had to have him taken by ambulance 3 in the morning to Inverness Hospital it was touch and go brings back very vivid memorys the new road was not there then,

No, no, no.

It is the worst road in the world, potholes that can swallow a mini, midges the size of an ostritch, locals who make the film Deliverance look like a tourist information guide and tailbacks of 15 miles.

Please I beg you, go somewhere else.

Hmm many a true word ... Last time in Mallaig, was on a charity ride around Scotland. Got settled into the backpackers and then went to the pub next door for a pint. Classic scene of 5 people sat sat at the bar (one female) turning round as one as we entered via a creaking swing door! They did chuck in a few quid to the cause though!

defo one of my favourite roads i do a loop round from Fort bill...down the Malliag road to the ferry , ride the skye road to Bradford then turn left on the A87, over the bridge passed Donnie and turn right following the A87 (not the A887) towards Invergarry were you meet the A82 .just follow on passed spean Bridge and back to Fort Bill. great days ride

Well I'm back home after an early start. It was wet going through Glen Coe but even so it is an awesome place.

The Borders presented their own threat and provided a nice way to finish off.
