I bought this new-to-me 2010 model R1200GS:

It's my second ever BMW, the first being a back-in-the-day K75S of 1989 vintage, bought new from Hughenden M40.
I have to admit that compared to my other bikes it's HUGE.
However, I have got the hang of it pretty quickly, and I'm itching to do some touring on it.
A buddy, who has recently bought a new R1200RS, and I are planning a UK jaunt some time next month when my other half goes to LA.
I've been lurking for a few days now, and I've already learnt quite a lot.
It seems I have chosen a good variant: a Mk3.
This was probably more by luck than judgement, even though I did a little research.
Here's looking forward to many years of enjoyment on the Gelände-Straße, or GS to abbreviate it.
