He's been doing sump guards as well, look good but they don't have the little recess where the screwholes are for sump mounting bolts.

Yes they do. The recess is on the underneath, not the top veiw as shown. (At least the one the one I bought from him when he was doing this guard before he stopped selling parts a little while ago, does)

I'm not referring to the chamfer for screw but the way in which OEM has a dome shape pressed upwards creating a recess underneath and a dome shape on the upper surface. I had been looking for aplate earlier this year and diodn't buy Gary's for that very reason, got mint OEM one from motorworks in the end. I'm guessing the domes create a gap that would probably help with cooling sump and isolate it a bit more from impacts.
