Hi All,

Does anyone know the paint code of the front part of the engine and the rear tyre hub?

My 1150GSA presents some corrosion that typically affects the aluminum and I'm planning to re-paint it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Gab

First, go to Phil Hawksley's superb and meticulously exhaustive BMW Motorrad paint-colour ident pages to find your EXACT GSA model of its year of manufacture. This is the page for my Rockster's colours, so go back up the tree when you get there :-

http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/paintcodes/greys.htm

Then when you know your particular GS model and year's precise colour scheme and paint colour codes - there are two - go to the web pages of the motorbike paint specialists RS Paints; just enter your bike details and year of mfgture, not first registration.

http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php

RS motorbike paints sell titchy little touch-up paint bottles - 25 ml like a girlie's nail varnish bottle - for about a tenner each and you top the colour off with their clear lacquer, 'cos their paints are the old-fashioned cellulose or acrylic formulations that release toxic organic compounds into the air as they evaporate, not today's so-called-harmless, water-based, cancer-causing two-pack paints that paint shops apply whilst struggling inside a complete air-fed space-suit garment. Watch the U-Toob's BMW.tv paint shop robot installation videos to see how harmless those paints really are - I should co-co :-

They post the little bottles to you. And they also sell by Post, 400ml and larger aerosol cans too, if you're tackling a large area like a mudguard that you scraped when you dropped the bike in the yard....
