What's considered the best "value for money" power distribution unit for Canbus bikes?

Where's the best place to buy one,??

Does anyone have one for sale???

Loads of options available and plenty of threads to wet your appetite..

PDM60
FuzeBlocK FZ-1
HEX EZcan - (I have this particular make... see my YT clip if it helps - https://youtu.be/yVIXikwS9N0)
Denali EZcan equivalent

oh... and make your own for £12 (allegedly :augie )

Hi Bob, what are you trying to power up.?
Heated vest.?
Fog lamps.?
USB charger.?
The traditional ways still work..

I have a front and rear camera (USB power) but will also want to power a heated vest, tank bag USB charger, an outlet for an air pump and an optimate charge point.

For what I want I think a simple fuse block would suffice with most outlets switched via a relay - if I can work out where to get a Canbus trigger supply from - any suggestions?

Bike is a 2017 LC R1200GSA TB.

Had to ask.. lol..
Canbus power supply I take off from behind the socket from near the instrument cluster, it's easy to get at, just slip the connector loose & pull through as photo, solder to the red wire, no fuse is needed as it's fed from canbus.

Also I would wire the optimate charge point & heated vest direct to battery via supplied cable & inline fuse. One end direct to battery earth & other to the jumper post under R/H battery cover.
I have these connected & all work fine.

USB power

Available from Nippy Normans, MUST be powered from a switched supply, either canbus or ignition controlled.
Somewhere recently I've seen a better version with a dual output but for now can't locate it..

I've wired my Optimate (non canbus) to the constant power side of the Fuzeblock and heated vest to the switched side - same as the previous bike.

I prefer to have the minimum of battery direct wires and I'm not sure why you would want to take a direct feed and bypass the Fuzeblock?

For USB charging I bought one of these and wired it to the Fuzeblock - works perfectly.

If u don't have a fuzeblock it's important..
like & use the Ebay item but really for cars as I dont think they're waterproof, also not easy to attach to bike as the rear is bulky.

Misunderstood, I thought you had a Fuzeblock - makes sense now. :beerjug:

I leave the charger under pillion seat.

I have a PDM60 and bought it because my Fuzeblock wouldn’t fit with the rider’s seat in the low position. The EZcan wasn’t available at the time and would obviously have been the best space saving solution.

Ditto for optimate plus an additional DIN socket to run my air compressor if needed. I run my heated vest via my PDM60. Just for info.

The EZcan is tiny for what it does and I am quite happy with it. I didn't have the £12 twat brigade to advise on much better solutions at the time hahahah...clowns!

I put mine under the pillion seat - fits fine with plenty of space.

I was going to link you to my thread explaining how I shagged my ABS by moving the device under my pillion seat to fit my Fuzeblock. The original pic was on photobucket so no longer available.

There are several variations like this unit that provide switched power and theres one a chap on the forums made with four outputs and self resetting fuses

Eastern Beaver do a simple, nice looking 3 fuse unit but its Australian company so import duty would need to be added to the price
