The wife,s niece arrived for a weeks stay at our gaff in Spain so I did the gentlemanly thing and bogged off for a few days giving them quality time together. :thumb
Weather forecast looked good so I headed towards Zaragossa as I was wanting to visìt the Bardenas Reales National Park in Navarra.
First overnight stay, Albarrachin in Aragon reached by some fabulous and at this time of year, quiet roads.
Lunchtime the next day arrived at the park and was able to navigate some really good trails, the scenery was spectacular.

Hello again Simon. From home in Orba Alicante. I said hi to the staff at the Arabia in Albarracin for you.:beerjug:

Great place the Arabia! :) Where did you stay near the Bardenas?

You missed out on a fantastic mountain ride to Darroca via Checa and Molina de Aragon, shame on you!

Bardenas Reales

There is some great riding in this area and in the adjoining Monegros . I went in July and stayed in the Sancho Abarca hotel . Great value for money and in a spectacular location . Lots of trails in the area and most , once you get away from the tourist circuit are empty . I travelled to Burjaloz on a route that apart form skirting Zaragoza was almost all off road. I stayed in Belchitte where the old town is worth a look , it was destroyed in the civil war and left as a monument by Franco. Some good trails around including the Foz de Zafrane. From there I headed north taking in a lot of trails to Riglos and stayed in a great Hotel in Concilo . Pricey for Spain but food was fantastic . Some good but harder trails in this area too , recommend going up to Castle Loarre . I was on an Airhead so bigger bikes might struggle in places.

Bardenas Reales

The Hotel near Riglos was Hotel El Corral https://www.elcorraldeconcilio.com

I stayed in a hotel in Belchiite but would not recommend it . Strange place it shut at 6pm but is in the centre of town opposite the New Church if you cannot find anywhere else
