Africa Twin farkles list

crashbars and fork covers

Finally got my bars back from being powdercoated black and fitted some black fork protectors, very happy with the look.

Fitted an LED ‘DRL’ which I’m very happy with. It still won’t lessen my cloak of invisibility senses, but could give the SMIDSY less excuses.

That looks good, was it a specific kit or something you put together? Does it miss the front mudguard on full suspension compression?

It was one of a pair of DRL’s I bought with the intention of mounting both down each side of the inner fairing in front of the rads. I decided to just go with the one instead as it was easier to mount where I’ve put it and didn’t even have to drill the plastic as there’s slots that worked perfectly for the mounting bolts. Forks clear lock to lock and it’s not really any lower than the bottom of the lower triple clamp, so no clearance issues at all. I bought the oe fog light kit and had a mate wire it in (electrics is voodoo to me) and the lamp in the dash comes on when switched on. :)

That looks great. I know it's fitted as a DRL but does it throw much light out at night ? I'm just sussing out additional lights for mine before I get a proper sparkie to fit them, the grips and satnav wiring through an aux box

Screen nirvana.....or as close to it as possible (for me) !!! :bounce1

First run of the year and first tryout of winters farkles/alterations. The s/s brake lines are noticeably firmer at the lever and much nicer than the rubber lines.

The cut down TT medium (ex) rally style screen is now almost perfect while wearing a Tour X lid. Up to 80 is great, a slight tremor about 85 and fine after that. The tremor can be taken away by a very slight dip of the head, so in reality, I’m really happy that I cut the wind tunnel developed :augie upright portion off the screen. It makes it height-wise in between the short MRA sports screen and the oe screen the bike came with. Ive no intention of ever buying the taller screen available as I think they make the wind/buffeting problem worse.

What height/longback or short back are you Davy? I’m probably going to get a short screen for summer use, as I find the OEM Touring screen fitted to the ATAS, to be too effective at protecting me, so get little air getting to my chin vent on my Shoei GT Air. Summer use I’d like to get more air to helmet and venting on jacket, so will probably get the TT short screen as you have. How difficult was it to trim down?

He has the Medium screen trimmed down, so I'd suggest you get the Short. This is the medium on mine (very dirty i know) and its fine for me on motorways.

How to make a nice looking AT look like shit ;) even makes the hideous monstrosity behind it look half decent.

It's only my opinion but I think those stoopid front mus guards look ridiculous and that termi just looks wrong but most probably sounds good.

I’ve spent a good part of today fitting a paint protection kit to my AT. I went for the full kit, so a tad expensive, but hopefully worth the £££’s. The pics show how much decals there are plus some of the cutouts. I’ve done my best to show how ‘invisible’ it is.

These two pics hopefully the difference between with and without. The more dimpled blue decal is without, so applying the paint protection gives a much more smooth shiny finish.

I’d save a shedload of money and buy an MRA Sports screen instead of the TT one. Granted, the TT looks nice, but it’s nearly three times the price. I ran my AT with said MRA screen for over a year and couldn’t really fault it.
