Rode the XR in the dark for the first time the other day after getting off a late ferry back from France. As others have noted the OE lights are a bit rubbish, so went up North today to get the inimitable Les Wassall to fit a set of HIDs. He did a fabulous job and routed all the wires out of sight and firmly fixed the ballasts neatly inside the fairing.

The difference in light intensity is truly astonishing!

A highly recommended upgrade :thumb2

Which kit did you buy and did Les fit it or did he recommend someone.

Where abouts up north?

Cheers

Les fitted then at very reasonable cost and he's based in Congleton. Can't remember the exact specs of the lights but Les will advise, just drop him a PM, he usually responds pretty quickly.

And can he do it on a 1000R?

Can't see why not, he's very helpful and will advise, drop him a PM and he'll give you a call if you need to chat through the options.
His username on here is Les Wassall and his website is: http://www.hid50.com
