Hi all, R1200GS 04,out on a run bike didn’t start, then after 10 mins it did start, but it cut out at junction on tick over and didn’t start, starter turns it over ok but it’s no even trying to fire up, renewed the fuel pump controller and it did the same after 15mins local test ride, it bump starts ok then runs if you keep revs above iddle at lights/junctions etc any ideas? Cheers

You were lucky to get it bump started. Mine just locks the back wheel in any gear.

Sounds like one or both idle stepper motors are not powering up. They park when the ignition is off. The engine will start without them but you really have to catch it on the throttle and keep it above 1500rpm.

Check you are getting power at the idle steppers with ignition on. After that it's over to the GS-911 experts.

Interesting. The crankshaft sensor often fails while engine is hot, then magically work again when it's cold.
