I've been pondering the Hilltop mod for quite a while now. I recently removed the baffles from my Akrapovic and was pleasantly surprised by the improved gas flow so I almost convinced myself it wasn't worth getting the Hilltop mod done.
However, Once a thing gets into to brain it nags away and having learned about the post-in service I decided I had nowt to lose.
I sent my ECU on Monday afternoon and it came back on Wednesday morning. What service.
So today I went off to check out a group ride that's scheduled for a couple of week's time.
I only did around 150 miles but my grin muscles are still aching :D:D:D:D:D

For me the mod makes the bike far more flexible in terms of speed vs. gear selection. Power delivery is much smoother and the increase in Torque is really noticeable, especially at low speed. I'm a very happy bunny and can; like every other GSer who has had this done; recommend it to you :clap:thumby:

Done all of mine and always a winner .. careful now as some will knock it ........ tell them bolloxs

Yep, me too.
I read and read every post, positive and negative and then rang Geoff and spoke to him. Took the ecu off and posted it to him, got it back refitted and took it for a ride. I was pleasantly surprised to be honest. It’s so much smoother pulling from low revs. Not saying it’s everything to everyone but it’s £300 well spent if you ask me. Very happy.

I now take all my bikes there, as a matter of course. And it doesn’t make any difference to your insurance either.:thumb

Glad to hear this as mine is booked for November 4th.
I've been debating for some time but as so many people seem to rate it I thought I should take the plunge.
I hope my GSA will be great on the way home :D

Who says it doesn’t? I cannot see how an insurance company wouldn’t want to know. I’m not one for loud exhausts ect but I would be interested in one of these primarley for reasons of economics. But I’d be worried about insurance coverage. JJH

I thought I’d told my insurance company, so called today to check. They’ve made a note on my policy, and have emailed to confirm that my bikes have had an ECU remap, which is covered on the policy at no extra charge.

I’d advise everyone to get it noted on your insurance, as one chap on AdvRider knows someone that knocked a pedestrian over. When the insurance company got hold of the bike, and found a remap which wasn’t declared, they voided the policy. The pedestrian then sued the rider, for a 6 figure sum, which the rider had to sell his home to pay.

Although the Hilltop map is undetectable, I don’t want to run the risk, just in case.

Like Nutty, my bikes just go routinely. Tuono was last and it's brilliant now despite being great beforehand. It amazes me that people spend £600+ on an Akra but won't spend half that on the best mod you can make...

I keep thinking about having this done to my 2014 GSA....the more I read about it on here, the more I believe it may be worth the layout. I have the OEM can and IMHO think the sound is ok... mine tends to pop and crackle on accasion which brings a smile to the face anyway. It’s the reading about how much better the pick up is that’s turning me towards.. hmmmmm, do I, don’t I

Exactly the same for me mate. My bike is standard and I'm pretty happy with it but hilltop seems to improve it further.
I'm not a fast rider or particularly good but I hope it makes a difference and I hope I can tell the difference more to the point.
I'll post on here in a few weeks when it's been done and if I can tell the difference then you'll know it's good

I’m there on Nov 4th to visit. I’m pleased so many of the people I’ve organised “Group Discount Dates” for have replied and also sent me positive feedback. This is the best money I’ve ever spent on a motorcycle!
More “Group Discount Dates” coming up, PM me your details and suggested dates.

It is, but I’m still sure that if the insurance company really wanted to find out, and pay specialists to find it, they could. In the case of a potential six figure claim, I’d imagine they would be on a mission to find anything “not insured”. As it shouldn’t affect your premium, I’d advise folk to let your insurance companies know it’s been done, just in case.
