Took a day off work this week to sort the S1000R. Really tricky to get the Kliktronic shifter to fit on this one. Ended up using the two M10 threaded lugs on the engine sump and building out from there as the only other option was the engine case. The only place for the shifter to fit and work, so it wasn't in the way of my foot or leg, was to rotate the lever 180 degrees which put the kliktronic unit quite far out and made it rather vulnerable if i drop the bike, so.......... found a company in Russia that make stunt cages and ordered a white one. I actually really like the look of it, which is a bonus. Will take all the shifter bits off, round the edges and paint it up next.

Also fitted some Akra headers. What a difference!! It sounds incredible. All the noise was lost in the cat, as the silencer is essentially straight through.

Good looking solution to what I assume is a requirement rather than a farkle; health to ride as :aidan might say.

Thanks! Yes a necessity unfortunately. Had a great thrash this morning with a mate on his Ducati 1098, you have to re-train your brain to the speed of the thing. Worlds apart from the ADV / Bonneville type bike’s I’ve been riding for the last couple of years

Hi did you have to have the ecu remapped to suit the decat? And is it very loud?

I haven't actually, I've seen dyno graphs of the same setup and the A/F ratio isn't that far different. When I change the silencer, I will get it tuned or buy a fuel controller. It sounds fantastic, loud but not raspy or obnoxious.

Moody carpark shot.....

Took as second go at installing the Kliktronic shifter as I really wanted to try and get it up higher and out of harms way incase I dropped the bike over, with a view to removing the crash cage (installed to protect the Kliktronic) and I really think that cage may cause chaos if i slid off it on a track day. I had visions of it barrel rolling off into the distance.

I've no idea why the new position eluded me the first time around, but a simple bracket onto this engine mount has worked perfectly, so I was able to get the shifter tighter to the bike and the connection to the gear lever higher and out the way and it doesnt clash with my foot, which I thought it might originally. So got the crash cage off and just some R&G bobbins fitter. Much better solution.

Much, much better. That cage looked awful.
