2018 model

Why build a bike with heated grips then leave the wiring hanging like a scrubber's knickers? :blast

Not the end of the world is it?

The paintwork sets it off a treat , bravo Honda jolly good show.

The best big trail bike is now even better I think the tank range is up by about 5.5 ltr so 70 miles or so didn’t think it really needed the extra suspension travel as it’s already got about 9 inches.

Launch date 6th November with bigger tank , white frame , one piece seat, and original paintwork

Aside from aesthetic differences, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports model will see the fuel tank size increase by 5.4-litres, to 24.2-litres, something that’ll likely appeal to most riders out there.

Longer travel suspension will make it more suited to riding demanding off-road terrain by lifting the ride height and providing more ground clearance, while an extra-large skid plate and extended fairing with protective cowl bar will add to those credentials.

The latest model will also share extensive updates which are being given to the standard CRF1000L Africa Twin, which include Throttle By Wire engine management with four riding roads, expanded Honda Selectable Torque Control parameters, and revised intake and exhaust for stronger mid-range response.

Very nice, I'd like to see the two models side by side (old and new).

Looks fab to me, a definite evolution to the AT, hope Mk1 owners aren't too unhappy

No though id be lying if i said i didn't prefer it. One of the main reasons i brought my new one was the £9k 0% £66 pm no deposit deal. The extra id of needed to pay for the new model isnt worth if for me. Im so happy with having a new bike that is genuinely without question for me the best big trail bike available. This is using my own ideals that make a great bike. Things like reliability, ride quality, off road performance, ease of maintenance , value and for me it has something no othr bike has and thats dct . Its for me the best thing about it.
I will be putting a tank cover on and wrapping the panels so the paint job will be covered anyhow.

You can never be unhappy with a brand new motorcycle in the garage :D

If I had bought my Africa Twin for £13,000 a month ago, and this one turned up today at £13,000 I would be absolutely gutted.

But, since I bought my Africa Twin for £0 and its actually only costing me £840 per year. I'm not unhappy at all :D

In fact, it's because they gave me the 'old model' so cheap, I could afford to enjoy it's delights in addition to my other bikes. not instead of.

It's a total Win Win.

If you add up all the new farkles on the new bike, and then add up all the extra 'fun' added to the new bike (which is the main thing), I bet it doesn't add as much extra fun as you think. :D

In 3 years time when I've had my playtime on the 'old Africa Twin', I might keep it, I might hand it back, I might have a new one.

Decisions, decisions. In the meantime, I'll be out enjoying my new 'old' Africa Twin for £ 2.30 a day.

Still think it's funny, even 30 years ago a new bike wasn't that cheap. :D

See you there....along with a billion other people. You spending most of the day on the KTM stand? :JB

Nope !

Not much to look at apart from new 790s.

I’m going to look at new Kwak H2 SX and Hondas such as new Wing.
Think girls get in free on a Friday . Taking the g/f. Was mobbed last year on same day

I'm surprised she wants to go again if she got mobbed.

Last year I didn't print my own ticket....Oh man that was a VERY big mistake! Over an hour just to get in :blast

Looks rather nice, but I can’t underst Honda thinking concerning the lack of cruise control, tft screen, tubless rims and esa, every other manufacturer has all these features. Let’s face it, most big adv bikes very rarely go Offroad, there just really great looking touring bikes.

All the same, still looks the dogs in 30th anniversary colour scheme :thumb2

I still prefer the look of my new tri colour bike
Cruise would be nice not bothered about riding modes I didnt use them on the GS Rallye, the seat being fltter means its more like my RD07 and that was like being sat on a brick wall, I certainly dont need it any Higher being a short arse I like the clocks and the sump guard though !!

Yanks say the AS version is $2k more than the standard bike. So that'll no doubt be at least £2k more here.

It is nice, they've done a good job
