Mac Mini Help please

Ive got a mac mini 2009 4gig ram 500 gig hard disc. I cant think what its running.
My daughter gets on well with my iMac almost new. I would like her to be able to do her college work on it but cannot get a word processor to work on it. Any ideas? The mac stuff that should work seems to be no longer avaible and the current stuff wont down load as the computre dosent support it. Thanks JJH

You can get MS Word for Mac.

Or Apples own 'Pages' is compatible with MS Word and a file saved in either piece of software can be opened and amended in the other

Word for Mac, but don't pay full retail.

Pages is just as good for almost all purposes.

If the computer is getting on a bit, you may have to find an older compatible version of Office.

Microsoft originally wrote Excel and Word for the Mac. You will find a version. Before Windows was created.

My son used a simple free word processor called Bean
