Overland Motorcycle Tours company: Morocco

Hi pvsh3

We did the Moroccan mountains adventure tour with overland motorcycle tours last year, and had a great time, and stayed in some really good places. The tour was lead by Jay who was happy to answer any questions and sent out detailed tour information about what to pack, insurance tips on riding in Morocco etc before the tour. I can highly recommend overland motorcycle tours. I would like to do their other Morocco tour which uses a diffrent route, the Imperial tour hopfully next year. Which tour are you thinking of? we have booked Pyrenees tour this year.

Chris Scott does 6 day tours, out of Marrakech, using rented bikes, small groups 6 or 7 , usually good hotels and very enjoyable routes. The rental bikes to date have been X-R 250 Honda’s, but might be replaced by BMW 310s for this year. Trip is Roughly 50/50 road gravel, no heroics no sand.

Chris does his tours in October/ November, which gets you perfect weather in the south, check out his website for details booking, but the tours tend to book out quickly. He is also doing a road bike trip to Tunisia/Algeria in January 2019.

Why not go with the guy who wrote the book?

As I understand it, the Government stepped in to reduce the amount of Hassle that tourists were subject too in Morocco. This had resulted in reducing the amount of begging and general hassle , so generally a polite ‘non’ seems to work well, but nothing will work with the fossil vendors! It will be nothing like Egypt.

Big Sky Riders - 'Adventure Tours for Adventure Bike Riders' - an introduction

I hope this post is deemed appropriate...

My name is Adam Lewis.

In 2017 I founded the tour operator Big Sky Riders which I launced at December's Great Christmas Escape here in my hometown of Andover.

Having spent the past 7 years running motorcycle tours in India & Nepal (mainly in the high Himalaya), and the previous 6.5 years riding RTW solo (http://shortwayround.co.uk/), I wanted to put all that I'd learned and experienced into a venture that would support Adventure riders in experiencing the adventure our bikes are built for.

Our routes are specifically designed for Adventure Riders on both small and large capacity Adventure bikes, with varying percentage's of dirt roads.

We currently have three tours in Morocco, each aimed at a different levels of rider from the first-timer through to the experienced trail rider.
