Does your fuel pump run when you connect it direct to the battery (FPC bypassed)?
Fuel pump controller failed. Confused by replacement part numbers!!

The FPC has three wires. It would be good to know what the third wire (red stripe) actually does.
My guess is it triggers the pump to run at 100%. Can anyone confirm? Would a bypass wire to that third lead do the same thing as removing the controller?

The parts man at BMW said it's the signal wire that alters the FPC output voltage.

Thanks. It must be all done in the controller. A shame because running a permanent bypass wire (with switch or plug) is not not clever as it will cause water to collect under the controller
