790 Duke

It's not slow for a small naked bike !!

Has it been to Hilltop? Mine may be having a trip

That's quick enough for sure. Not sure my old 690SM would've held it's own in the slightest.

Raises a question as to whether big cc SM's are finished. If so, a 690 SMC-R will hold it's value rather well moving forwards.

Also, I'm guessing that this performance profile will get changed for the Adventure a bit, perhaps losing some top end power in favor of grunt lower down.

Wife had a test ride on ktm 790 on Tuesday, she said it felt very nimble and was very easy to ride ordered a black and silver one .should be ready 15th May bike is at dealers but there is a recall on a engine mounting bolt and they don’t have the replacement bolts available yet

I reckon a GT Version would be perfect for my Mrs, as we do actually venture out of our own postcode the current model is no good for us.

GT version would also be nice, some people that are not also in the tallest 5% of the worlds population also like to get beyond their own postcode on a motorcycle from time to time.

Seems to be an echo in here , but its good you can make it into an adjoining postcode . You is a true adventurist (Oompaloompa Divsion ) !

What about the new Honda Monkey ? Get one of those with soft luggage ??

790 Adventure version needed :clap

Patience !!!

It’s coming

Spoke to my dealer and my bike not affected by this recall. Weird.

I suspect that bringing out different variants will be a slow process dragging on for at least 3 years and dependent on overall sales of the 790 as it develops.

Some riders want a full on adventure bike, some will want the Chelsea Tractor SUV they look good on but the worst surface they go near is their gravel drive, some will want a GT that comes with small hard panniers and branded inner bags to carry into hotels and some will want a fear inducing naked bike they can claim to beat any litre class sports bike on.

Patience is the key, my wife might buy one as a replacement for her MT09 Tracer but it’ll need to be a GT with lowered suspension and seat or she’s going to be sticking with what she already has 😀

Don't know if it's just me but that rear shock mount on the swingarm looks a bit weak to partially educated eye. Sure someone has crunched some numbers! Hope so. :D
