After a little reflection I decided not to break the bike but to rebuild it.

So : it has now had:

The front brake caliper replaced with one of the correct size and the EH big brake kit.

A completely new engine built by an Airhead specialist (now retired).
The barrels re-nicasiled and matched to a new pair of pistons.
Heads rebuilt with new guides, springs and valves and brand new updated rockers (they are expensive)

Gearbox rebuilt into a paralever gearbox with 3 new gears a as well as bearings, seals and springs and a new clutch.

Driveshaft rebuilt with new U/J’s,

Bevel drive rebuilt with bearings and seals and of course swing arm bearings and paralever bearings.

Heads, driveshaft and bevel by Mikeyboy, gearbox by Charlie………….thanks boys!

In addition it’s had a Motobatt battery, starter motor, LED headlamp and tail lamp as well as having all the warning lights rewired
and head lamp nacelle and seat lock repaired.

It now runs as it should have done before it was butchered.

When it's run in and settled it will probably be for sale (along with the rest!)

Lovely job you have done there Duncan.
When yer sell it would you consider a Part ex ??
Just being mischievous, it looks and, when I heard it, sounds fabulous
:thumby:

Remember, what goes around, comes around...

You've done a great job there, turning a shite situation into a positive outcome:thumby:

Lovely, that. Fair play to you for seeing it through rather than breaking it for spares. In the longer run, totally the right decision.

I would be well happy with that in my fleet.

Thank-you gentlemen, it's now done nearly 500 miles since rebuild and with a much reduced oil consumption and properly quiet!

There are still one or two mods to do over the winter to improve it.

Non of the debts have been paid, in fact there has been no communication from Yorkshire at all, it wouldn't remotely break even if the debts were paid but it would help.

She looks lovely Duncan, really nice, I'd love to own one but no spare cash.
As Mikeyboy, I too believed Flo was a genuine guy to deal with.
Seems I was wrong.:blast
