Just bought a 1986, K100C which has not been used since 1999.

Fuel tank had some petrol in it, but fuel was yellow and has varnished all internals. Rubber vibration ring and hoses were a guey horrible mess and the fuel pump is seized (probably due to the stale petrol and sticky varnish).

Will need to replace the rubber vibration ring and gauze filter from Motorworks, but I'm looking for advice on a replacement fuel pump instead of the £185 + from Motorworks and the like.

Anyone here replaced the fuel pump with a suitable alternative ?

Overall the bikes in tidy condition, needs a bit of a tidy up, clean and replace the brake hoses etc.
Rear master cylinder has been leaking and seized, so a replacement also needed.

Looking forward to some time tinkering in the garage.

Previously had a K1100LT, 1992, which was a great bike, but progressed onto the Oilheads.
Thanks for looking.

Peter, hi, yes, seen them, and Sherlocks have a complete fuel pump set up for £120 (includes pump, rubber vibration ring and gauze filter).
But I am hoping that someone on here has changed the pump for a new alternative pump and can recommend it.
Ebay has plenty of new ones for around £60, so plenty of choice.

There's plenty of cheaper options that'll work in a 'brick'.
I had to replace the pump in one of mine. Peugeot 209 GTI pump for £10 on eBay.
Seem to remember you could buy a new Italian one that fitted for £60.
Have a look at this http://www.k100-forum.com/portal for all things K100/1100.
