Between Ijmuiden and the Alps?

Tyrol Alps, we have a few days planned there as part of 2018 foray.

We 'will' be heading via Simmerath, Cochem, Kaiserslautern. Then a few days Andermatt, then across to Garmisch-Partenkirchen area.

If you thinking of sticking to Germany, then there are some good roads enroute avoiding motorways. A shame on google maps the streetview does not work (privacy issues?) in Germany so more work is required to pick out good routes. Zoom in on satellite view, avoid as many towns/villages as you can. Out in the sticks there are obviously less speed restrictions (in more than one way!!). Search out Beuron and the Danube. We had a great route from Kaiserslautern, in to Black forest then Danube towards Ravensburg (worth a visit).
From Ravensberg there are great roads that just get better as you head in to the mountains proper. If heading in to Austria the choices are meany, including the Silvrettastrasse. Beats the boring motorway.

Thanks guys. Bouillon is another favourite. Cochem will be getting a look. We'll be heading to the Tyrol Alps via the far south of Germany.
I should have said we usually camp too!

Cheers

Mike

There’s a campsite in the centre of Cochem on the opposite side of the river from the old town centre :beerjug:
