If anybody's thinking about these, I just fitted a pair of TKC70s to my '95 R1100GS and am extremely pleased with them. They are M&S marked but don't have the snowflake symbol, so aren't true winter tyres. Having said that, riding in temperatures of 1 deg C they are super-grippy and confidence inspiring tyres. I already prefer them to the Tourance Next which I had before and they were revolutionary (for me!).

Haven't tried them 'off-road' but they fishtail across the field nicely.

I liked them on the 1200 but they are not really any better on mud (& I assume snow) than any other trail tyre.
When I dropped my bike on what looked like a dry field (yeah right) it took easily 10 mins to pick it up again as wheels just slid sideways. Once up, getting on to ride it out was even more fun (I use the side stand horse saddle technique).
They are great on gravel strewn tarmac that puts normal trail tyres into a spin. Steering is very light and precise. They do weave a bit at motorway speeds. Tread life was less than Trail Attack 2s.
