STFU ... back to the Bollox for you ... this is a technical thread for normal blokes ....

Fella’s, there are a few on here who are getting fed up with this....if you want to have a go at each other, take it to the pub and let us get on with this thread.....

...which is in itself pointless as my GSA TC is the best bike ever built!

.... that is apart from my old GSA1150 I wish I had never sold....

.....or perhaps my 1981 z650

.....no, no it was my FS1e

Oh bollocks.....they were all the best bike at the time as they were mine and I loved riding them

And my Garelli Tiger...

Big BUT never ever my first bike a 1959 bsa c15, well I did hit a sheep first week out which may have played a part in my dislike of it. ( the bike not the poor old dead sheep)

If you ride a lot, I think the best bike is the one you do most miles on.

Whatever that bike happens to be.

Nope.

One's best bike is one's best bike for any number of personal reasons, rarely something as practical/clinical as that.

This is my best bike. The one bike I would keep if I had to sell all my others but it certainly does nowhere near the miles of some of my others.

I've liked all my bikes as well. Any one of them I'd keep forever as my only bike.

But the best bike is hard as they all had their moments of bestness and fond memory.

Never had a really bad bike that I hated, thankfully.

Don't fret, the new Boxer engine is coming next year...;)

Yeah and unless it blows my mind with electrickery I won't be buying one for at least 2 years.

Let the bleeding edge and early adopters tears dry out first

Great thread with some interesting characters, I'm new to BMW and at the moment I'm loving the GS, such an easy bike to ride, had 25 bikes over the years all chain driven and most of those were sports bikes. I've now got to an age where top end speed is irrelevant, but still like a back road blast. KTM build a lovely bike make no mistake and at some point I may even go for one, but the GS is a bike I've always wanted and it doesn't disappoint. At the end of the day it's not the bike that's quick its " the rider". :thumb

My ZZR1400 Performance Sport was faster than me.

I swear my arms are longer and my neck shorter after being pistol whipped by that thing at full throttle.

Don't bother counting street lights as you pass them, you can't count that quick !!

I know exactly what you mean, awesome bike, had it for 4 years and chopped it in for the GS :thumb

Thanks for the vote of confidence, admitted, at 230kilos their not going to be as quick as say a GSXR, ZXR, BLADE or R1 but still very capable in the right hands :thumb

Really there are so many variables: I don't like the salesman at my local KTM dealership. And I don't like the looks of the KTM's. Obviously these are personal reasons for my choice of BMW over KTM. I really like the look of my brown GS, again very subjective. I find the GS very comfortable, apart from the dreadful wind noise. For my weekend bimbling and annual 400-500 miles a day continental blast I probably have the ideal bike, for me.
Each to his own.
