At unladen rebound, and certainly if the damper is providing the stop of travel at rebound, isnt the joint under tension then? (an extreme example would be if you "get air" over a jump say)

Just saying (but I agree the weld is adequate anyways)

We have also taken a closer look at the rear wheel clearances,
It was decided it would be a good idea to extend the cut out down the arm ,
This will allow us to build the wheels with a lot less offset ,if a 120 tyre is fitted to a 2.5 inch rim.we can get away with 5mm offset,
A standard 2.15 rim and a 4.00 x18 tyre won’t need any offset

I made up a seat base using fibre glass,
And my upholsterer has made up a foam and cover ,Alicante on the top with leather sides.
Going to exhaust fabricator in the morning

Oh yes,nearly forgot,,
The motor is just about finished,
This is a 79 RS motor,heavy flywheel,so the bike should go well

The gearbox is also built,it’s on the shelf underneath the bench

Once the exhaust is finished the bike will come apart so the frame can be powder coated,
I’m hoping to show the bike at the Airhead gathering in Lincoln,where it will have a FOR SALE notice on it.
