Brown seats for my new RT?

Tony Archer has just completed a major rebuild on wifeys Street Triple R seat - 3" extra padding to reduce back ache and improve knee extension.

He charged £80 including a full re-cover, and £10 to wrap and return it by recorded delivery.

Leather bike seats in the UK are an issue - they will allow water to penetrate, and are nowhere near as durable as a brown vinyl.

Give Tony Archer a call, he may well have the colour you need in stock, and you will not get a better job done elsewhere.

Thanks for the info :thumb however I need and have found a good local specialist upholsterer who can do the work at a good price (by chance, he's literally 1 mile from me!) - I went to see him yesterday and I think he'll do a great job

I'm sourcing the material myself and agree, real leather is out, so I've already sourced a few leatherette/vinyl samples so I can get exactly what I want :)

I also found a nearly new set of OEM seat covers on eBay so he can use and abuse those for his template and save my new ones so I can always revert to the stock covers if I ever sell the bike

Ignore the bell-ends - it's your bike, just see how it turns out.

It would be useful to get a report and details of this upholsterer for the forum.

Local recommendations for local people :thumb2

Ignore the bell-ends -
The comment is all well and good, but the thrust of gabriel_gs's post was 'what do you think of this?'
If it were a thread that asked for advice about where the work could be done, then the responses would have been different.
As it is, I think the responses are all very valid.

Yep agree with you both.

I did invite comment, so that's all fine - though I'm always hoping for constructive criticism rather than just negativity - I'm a designer by trade and so I'm all about opposing opinions :)

Anyhoo, I've got a thick skin (and my own mind) so no offence taken in any way!

I like it and once I find the right material, I'll get it done :)

BTW, I'm not colourblind, it won't devalue the bike and I think the BMW motorsport colours are terrible, but again, each to their own :comfort

Don’t dismiss roo leather, details:

I got a few square meters from a dealer in Germany, can’t remember the price but it was reasonable. Or give BKS a call and they may be able to sell you what you need.
