Anyone used one? I'm planning on a few off road jollies on the GS this year and would like to buy some protection before I bend/scratch/dent/fuckup my very expensive end can

R&G do them, secured by a huge jubilee clip but I'd rather have something that goes all the war round to avoid it slipping or being torn off in the vent of a slide etc. Is there such a thing?

The question is what happens to the link pipe when you bash the silencer can. You might be better fitting a cheap used and dented exhaust for when you expect to be doing falling off things.

I will get accused of going off topic but-
Also look at your cylinder head protectors. Do the protector's mounts bend on impact or do they transfer forces into the cylinder head risking cracking something properly expensive. The uber tuff Touratech head covers I acquired with my bike looked great and were seriously strong, but the stainless steel mounts/brackets had zero "give". After a proper falling off, I found the mounting screws (M6) were bend Z shape and was lucky the mounting lugs cast into the head were not cracked. Even worse - the magnesium rocker cover still got scraped.

Cheers for the reply Bendy

I'm happy with the protection on the bike as is. I've got an 'adventure bike' and therefore it would be a shame if it wasn't chucked up a trail or three so I'm not scared of a little gravel rash.

The exhaust just shouts out 'I'm gonna get dinged' whenever I look at it so taking a few precautions seems sensible

Fit a set of Adventure pannier racks on it.........and the worries will be just a distant memory.

Good shout

Doesn't look like that all the time - that was post clean and ACF50 application. She's mucky again now :thumb2
You will also be surprised how much protection the passenger foot peg assembly can give to the rear end of the bike if it goes down.

I have a Remus which was on my previous GSA Hexhead which went down fairly heavily in France last year and recently survived the same bike being written off. I have it on my current GSA...... It's perfect.

I rarely use the panniers, probably twice or three times a year but I leave the racks on for protection even though the bike looks so much better without them.
