So as a few may know I recently bought an XChallenge off eBay as a winter project . Once finished it will be number four in the G650X collection....
Doesn't look like much at the moment but it will start to shape up over the coming weeks - just an engine a a pile of both used and new parts at the moment
I'll post pictures as I progress through the build
Issue found to date and either fixed already or to be fixed
Two Radiator hoses loose
Thermostat housing cracked and causing thermostat to jam closed
Radiator lower fixing missing
Front sprocket retaining bolt only hand tight
HyperPro rear shock fitted upside down
Wheel rims both have slight warp - with Roy Thursby being sorted
Fuel injector cover cracked and leaking petrol
Idle control valve gummed up
Aftermarket alarm poorly fitted and located behind LHS panel and fouling throttle body - removed and binned
Air box breather pipe spigot snapped off
Valve clearances(exhaust) out of specification
Tyres illegal
Brake pads metal to metal
Brake discs below minimum thickness
Internal exhaust baffles loose and header damaged
Other than these few items nothing a bit time and effort cant sort lol
I now know why I always hire a van to collect a bike rather than ride it home !
That said I did get it cheap in the knowledge that it needed rescuing
