Hi all,

Hope this is something like the right place - never asked a non-GS related question before (on here).

Do I need a specific charger for a lithium-ion battery? I have an Optimate 4 and a CTEK regular charger (ie, not a maintenance/trickle charger), but I a) don't want to buy an expensive Lithium-ion battery (for an enduro bike) without at least knowing I'll need to lash out on a new charger as well or b) buy one and knacker it with the wrong charger.

I tried googling the question, but the answers confused me - not that I spent that long doing it. I trust you lot more than some random people on the web (I think)

Thanks

Neil

I have a lithium batt and it came with a specific charger... doesn't answer your question but .....
I believe you will damage the battery by using a 'normal' charger.

perhaps a call to a Li-Ion seller ... Try Carrot Cycles

I don't understand all this special battery discussions.
Why not nip over to Halfords and pick up a Yuasa?
How good does a battery have to be?

Then educate yourself. Hint: weight, approx. 15 min for charge etc...
