Unfortunately the Rugged Roads upper crash bars wont fit with the high fender kit. The upper bracket fouls the new brake lines. Decided to have a quick shake down on a local lane anyway. It was great, much better off road than the GSA was, but then again, it's a bit more focused in that department, so not really a surprise.

Nice one crotchrocket, I guess you managed to get the issue off not reving above 4000 in the top 3 gears then, what was causing the issue?

Not sorted yet no, but didn't have time to try the stock sprockets again. The issue was that it will not upshift at high RPM under throttle, you have to come off the throttle, push the upshift button then hammer on again like you would on a standard clutch bike. I use the buttons in manual mode anyway, so not the end of the world, but does need sorting.

Good man for getting it muddy.

I've actually suspended my Altrider High Fender Kit, as I'm not entirely convinced yet I need it. I've been through some very muddy scenarios on my day out and mud clogging the front wheel hasn't yet been an issue.

Mud clogging clearly isn't an issue on your tyres in the pics either.

So I'd rather have the high panel bar protection than a high fender kit. I suppose it's another reason to stick with Altrider though, as all the bars on my bike are Altrider so it makes sense it'll be compatible.

Did you let your tyre pressures down?

Yeah I would hope AR make all their products compatible. It's the 'race' style brake line setup thats the issue, as there's a manifold above the mud guard, which has a line from the ABS unit, which then splits into two equal length brake lines, one to each calliper.

Dropped about 10PSI from each tyre, but didn't go more as I hadn't yet added a power cable, so I can plug in my compressor. No idea if it helped haha! Certainly made the handling 'interesting' when back on the tarmac.

I'm sure Camel ADV uses the Altrider Crash Bars on his own bike, so your high fender kit should be compatible with the Altrider bars as well.

I'd also highly recommend the Camel Adv Footpeg Shield if you go off road a lot.

Mine took a hit on the very first drop, so that offside footpeg and the brake pedal is vulnerable.

It was this sideways angle (half onto mud, half onto rocks or road) that just caught it at the wrong angle on the footpeg. :blast

Easily done and snap.... !! (or in my case, no snap as the shield took the impact and protected the footpeg)

The issue was the RR bars have 3 bolts in the top bracket. Two on the front subframe under the lights (there's two holes there and thats where the Honda bars fit) But one additional heavy duty connection to the bike frame itself, where the subframe mounts. It's that third connection that fouls. Tried turning the banjos around etc but the brake line would still easily chafe over time. I've sent RR an inquiry about the rigidity of the bars if I cut that 3rd connector off. If that fails, It will be the Outback Motorteck bars and I'll sell my RR lowers.

Ouch ! those Kriega bags look to help to, but quite pricey as sacrificial pillows ! :)

Did see the Camel footpeg brace but it was a bit eye watering at £130 !

Yeah it is expensive.

But trying to ride a DCT home with a broken footpeg and no stable rear brake control is worth avoiding... in my opinion.

I also bought a cheap secondhand rear brake lever off eBay for £25 as a spare

I did almost not bother with the Camel ADV footpeg shield, on the thought that "I'm never going to be riding over rocks, so what event would happen that I snap the footpeg off?"

I just didn't think I'd smash my bike hard enough to need it.

But, my logic said, in any event it did happen, riding a DCT is a no no with no foot peg so I bought it "just in case"

First drop, the shield did it's job and saved the footpeg !

And you will drop your bike... haha

Had a go around Devils Punch Bowl on Saturday, this lane was far too much for me !! The rest of the area was nice trail type tracks so good fun but short. I was under the impression there were miles of trails around there? My mate brought the right bike :D
