My situation in summary.
- r1200 TE Ex
- 57, returned to biking last year and a looooong lay-off
- Full (9+ years) ncb for the car, live in a reasonably good area, no points
- I have no garage. Bike is therefore kept at my mothers in a locked garage (even better postcode). Alarmed, ground anchor, anti pinch pin with 19mm almax and 14mm squire lock on the rear, 16mm abloy lock on front.
- Social and commute, overnight parking at my mothers = 615 (others wanted up to 1K or wouldn't quote); on street without locks, 630, and if I had a garage at my address, would be 320 (no bike ncb, to bear in mind).
Are there any brokers out here that would be able to have a sensible conversation with the underwriter, regarding kept location, or its it always going to come down to an inflexible actuarial based quote?
I do realise that in the case of cars, a locked garage/driveway overnight parking can increase your premium over street parking.
