Denali SPLIT Sound Bomb - anybody fitted one? GS/GSA.

Ok, here's my experience based advice regarding the fitment of a Denali Sound Bomb SPLIT...

Don't bother, it's loads of faff and there's nowhere easy to locate the horn part :blagblah - just go for the COMPACT with the bespoke bracket :beerjug:

Please could you confirm which one is the compact. Ta

Thank you. Have you got this on your bike, if so, where did you fit it?

I have the same set up. Very straightforward to fit, although once you've bought the compact and wiring (can buy on amazon) and canbus adaptor and bracket from NNs, you're looking at 90 quid or so.

Thanks for that. Looks simple. The wiring harness on NNs just says for split Danali... I’m assuming the harness is for both - I’ll call them on Monday to confirm. If I had a website like that I’d describe exactly what the parts are for and what, if any, additional parts are required to fit a particular item!

I don’t want to order the wrong bits and have have to faff around sending stuff back...

Thanks for the info though.

The wiring harness would just be a simple +/- kit. Would fit in any aftermarket horn.

I expect its the same, just that they weren't selling the compact at the time they put it up - they are now https://www.nippynormans.com/denali/denali-sound-bomb-120db-horn edit - if you look at the description, the advised wiring kit is as per above.

As NNs weren't stocking the compact at the time, I bought this and the wiring kit from amazon, slightly cheaper

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Denali-Sou...pID=41yqNujITEL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Denali-Plu...D=51rekMbm9%2BL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

I see that NNs is showing the canbus connector as out of stock. Other places (not amazon) stock it, though of course it's a faff to do separate orders.

Be assured, fitting couldn't be more straightforward, it's simply about how much time you want to take to do a tidy installation. The only real thing to note is to ensure that the wiring kit positive and negative terminals are attached correctly to the corresponding terminals on the compressor- best to attach before you offer up the SB on the bracket.

Cheers Yofi, that’s very helpful. I think I’ve now found all the parts I need on ABS (a bit cheaper too).

I’m picking up a new TB GSA in a couple of weeks and I don’t want it to sound feeble. I never got round to changing the horn on my current GSA. I’m normally good at collision avoidance and anticipating others but once had a woman decide to move from motorway centre lane to the offside lane, as I was almost alongside and just about to pass... I pressed the horn and could hardly hear it, I don’t she did either as I had to roll off the gas to avoid being sideswiped. A louder horn would probably have been heard - unless she was listening to something like Nirvana with the volume up!

If you want a neater finish that clipping it back to the battery on the frame it is possible though a tad fiddly, to get the wire into the square plastic trunking that the looms runs inside which sits beneath that side panel and under the tank.

Thanks, I’ll explore that suggestion, I like neat! Also got to run power to handlebar controller for heated vest, so I’ll kill two birds with one stone.

Cheers :thumby:

Mine is fitted now and fook it's loud .

Only used my once in anger, when a van driver was creeping from a side road, with his face away from me and messing around with something in the cabin. Did a quick press of the SB and his head spun around like Linda Blair in the exorcist :) Brought home to me it's value.
