Put LED front indicators on my R1100GS. They flash too fast. On my airhead it was as simple as swapping to a different relay but don’t know if similar would work for the oilhead.

I found a thread saying the original relay could be modified by cutting a track, but the PCB is different to the relay in mine. Here’s mine:

Any ideas?

well it appears there are several different versions of the flasher relay.

the one in my ‘95 R1100GS is part number 61.31-2 306 101. i found an old thread that says it can be modified by connecting 2 points on the PCB:

the most common version of the relay is part number 61.31-2 306 979 and is the one that the ‘cut track’ mod works on.

i was shocked at the price of used relays (£30-£50) though i managed to find a cheap one (£10) on ebay but it’s again a different part number, 61.31-2 305 700, which came off a ‘99 R1100S. the PCB looks to be the same layout as the 979 so i’m optimistic the cut track method will work. i did read on advrider though that with this version of the relay the ‘tap both sides to cancel’ feature doesn’t work. before now i wasn’t even aware of this feature so ill not miss it!
