Hi there!

Been reading these forums for a couple of years since purchasing my 2016 R1200GS TE Triple Black but only just got round to registering. Was wondering if anyone knows of any good independent service specialists in the Dorset area (Bournemouth/Christchurch). I'm out of warranty now and approaching my 12000 mile service (yeah i know took my time) and was looking to save some money but at the same time find a good reliable local company within a 15-20 mile radius. Would appreciate any recommendations.

I know you asked for independents, but CW in Dorchester are one of the best dealers in the country, and will always look after you.

This is just my thoughts....others are available..... how much will an indy save you? You may wish to consider the what if scenario......what if something goes wrong out of warranty. If it does if you've not got a full BMW service history then you'll be on your own, unless you want to go down the legal route. If you have those stamps and a good dealer then BMW may well offer some form of goodwill guesture. Sometimes the cheapest option is not always the best. You pays your money........

My personal thoughts and experiences are cw are not that expensive and the service you get is very very good they have always looked after me and go the extra mile to make people happy
Gove me a shout if you want and I will take you down and introduce you to the lads

Welcome!
And yes, no need to look beyond CW.

I've bought 3 bikes from CW over the years. They're not too expensive for service but you can reduce the costs by providing your own oil or even doing your own oil changes and let them do the rest of the service - I've done this with them and they were fine with it. Just talk to the service manager.

If I had a main dealer closer to me I would not hesitate and use them. Unfortunately the closest dealer to me is about 2 and a half hours away which simply means to much planning to get a service done. I am now using a local guy with a small garage/workshop who owns multiple bikes, including a GS, and services and repairs bikes for a living, again including many GS's. It was actually a GS owner of another forum who recommended this guy.

And welcome!

Greetings & welcome to the forum....:thumb2

CW do appear to get some great reviews....so your decision has been made very easy :D
