in a strange kind of way ,if i bought a gs with a knackered esa from a dealer ,i think i would be pleased,now knowing it would be replaced foc and warranted as well .just think you could have bought it private and had come back at all.
i think most places are the same they just turn the bikes out hoping nothing comes back and if it does then they will deal with it as and when .

My GSA front shock had lost its damping by 60K miles but passed the mot. The rear at 33K mikes was kicking like a mule. Neither had any oil leaks.
Oddly the bike was quite rideable. I can’t see anything with “normal” suspension being able to cope.
