Had a few days off in Mexico City so we decided to go for a ride.
Made contact with the boys at RideMB and arranged a day out to ride up to the top of the Xinantecatl Volcano at about 14000 feet above sea level.

Last minute booking so we had a Versys 650 and GSA800.

Pitched up at RideMB at 0800 and did the paperwork. Then off we went.

This is the route.

Ride up to the top of Xinantecatl Volcano then down to Valle de Bravo for lunch and back to Mexico City :

Extreme filtering required within the city.
Took about 45 minutes to get out, traffic not shown in this pic !!

We then rode back down and back on to the black top for some fabulous twisties down to Valle de Bravo for lunch, via the famous butterfly road, where literally thousands of butterflies are airborne.

I rode the Versys 650 up and the GSA800 back.

To be honest I was very surprised by the Versys-get it between 6and 10k and it flew, far more appealing than the GSA.

OK,the Versys suspension on the dirt tracks was a bit choppy, especially on road tyres, but it coped well.

All in all,a nice day out, with about 220 miles covered of which about 50 was on dirt.

Certainly does look great , riding in Mexico City must be an experience in itself !!!
