Nice touch; we used the one in Burgos (new build on ruined castle) and they were very accommodating. When I asked where I should park the bike they simply moved the outdoor menu card and waved me forward, almost into reception.

That's great, somewhere that understands that the vast majority of bike travellers have decent disposable income, aren't morons and with the internet, word spreads. Good and bad.

Much to my shame, I still haven't stayed in a Parador. I was booked last year but my trip went pear shaped :D

I really must sort this out!!!

It's a nice relaxing Parador at Nerja, always biker friendly in my experience & lovely gardens on the cliff.

Alternatively, If you try Mojaca or Antequerra, they often host the likes of VAG & Porsche, running mules or alpha testing.

That's a really nice touch. Wonder if all the Paradors will do this? I assume so. It'd be nice to see more hotels doing something like that.

Though the cynical bit of me wonders how many hand-towels were ruined by being used to clean helmets before they introduced it...

Happens a lot in the US as well although they use the old towels.

I always think it's a nice touch and of course it's stops the heathens who think using their bath towels to clean their lids and bikes is a good idea

The Paradors are a national chain so it's very likely that they'll do this in every one!

Meanwhile there are quite a few initiatives to promote tourism by motorbike. This one in Lleida, where I live, is really good and includes 'educating' hotels, restaurants, etc. about what bikers need, places for hanging wet gear, etc. and I think all of the recommended places have special facilities for bikers.

Sadly the routes only apply to the province as it's that which sponsored the project, meaning that routes that cross into other provinces are discounted - a very 'Spanish' daftness!

The Spanish regional ignoring of the next region over is the same in France and Germany. This sometimes goes as far as a jokey denial that anything else even exists and / or complete incredulity that you might ever want to go anywhere else. It’s funny and charming.

Paradors!

Pfffft.........

They were one of Franco's babies weren't they?

Having said that I may have stayed at one or two in my time........and mentioning, as you did, Llieda in your earlier post, I can heartily recommend the one there. We stayed there last September and it had only just opened; beautiful building and the dinning room was just WOW!

Actually they were the brainchild of Franco v1, a.k.a. Alphonso XIII, a right d***head of ever there was one - and they can't send you to prison for that now, thanks to the European Court of Human Rights!

Thanks for the link - very interesting.

We have stayed at several Paradors, the most impressive probably being at Leerma.

DONT EVER STAY THERE the festival is on....
