Nice touch at Spanish Parador hotel

We have stayed at several Paradors, the most impressive probably being at Leerma.

DONT EVER STAY THERE the festival is on....

That holds good for virtually anywhere in Spain, if you want a good nights sleep. Drunken Drummers, trumpeters, Fireworks etc, that manage to last right though until breakfast. Earplugs essential.

BTW it's Lerma, the Palacio Ducal. Nice garage too, free for 'Amigos' - have they ever got the indoor pool functioning?

I've stayed in a few paradores and never been disappointed, but never had a helmet wipe before.

Paradors are great, and with an Amigos de Paradores card they're not too expensive. We bank on 200 Euros a night for two of us half board but that includes the full-on dinner. The only mildly disappointing one last year was in Soria, and that was mainly due to it being a new building rather than somewhere old and historic.

Last year's were Sos Del Rey Catolico, Cardona (five nights), Alacaniz, Soria and Cevera de Pisuerga.

This year's are the one up near Santillana, Lerma, Olite, Vielha, Vic, Cardona (five nights) and Siguenza. A couple are paid for with points from last year.

Interesting article :thumb2

One of my fave restaurants in Gracia (Barca) has a picture of the king on the wall.............upside down :D

Andres

Apparently sales of pictures of the royal boat race have soared - all to be burned up later the same night!

PS nice place, Gracia!
