Morocco 2018 The Report.

We left he road near the old wells and took a small track that looked like it had been used by 4x4’s, this track quickly disappeared due to the soft sand blowing across the tracks, after looking at the desert art we headed back to the road on a different route, we hit the river which was dry but very soft in places, as PDiddy says its rideable with care, but I wouldn’t want to do it with a fully loaded bike.

Back at the hotel, we get washed and changed ready for dinner, our little Moroccan runner has returned with more beer, much to the amusement and envy of most of the Europeans staying at the hotel, I heard a couple of the men asking where they could get a beer from !:beerjug::beerjug:

Very rainy for us for last 4 days. Starts mid afternoon and continues to late evening. Started in Zagora then Ouarzazate now holed up by Cascade d’Ouzoud. Probably run for the coast at Casablanca tomorrow. Tiz n Tichka was a dull procession of lorries and motorhomes. Latest excuse for cops to fine us- we stopped next to him instead of at the Stop sign 5 meters before. That’s another 200 dirhams gone

Day 6, we are all up early with the view to get some miles in. We need to be in Zagora at a sensible time, once there we can clean and service the bikes. This is at 8am weather is nice and fresh but that sun is already feeling warm.

It’s around 2pm and we decide to stop for a well earned rest under the shade of a tree.

For this trip I decided to treat myself to a nice new Mosko duffel bag that doubles into a very large back pack, very handy, it opens at both ends and I can get everything I need in it including tools, clothes, spares etc..
The only down side is that when strapped to the bike it covers the rear fuel cap, making it a bit of a pain when I fuel up, I decided in my wisdom to push the bag as far back as I could so that I could access the fuel cap. Yes, you guessed it ! It was resting on the exhaust and burnt a hole in it ! Gutted !

When were you in Erg Chebbi?, I was there late October.

Great photos and report, you did better on picking hotels than we did :)

We were there 5 & 6th April. Slow RR I know. We pre-booked most of the hotels and only ones we’ve used before.
We’ll be there again in Oct this year.
