Hi, a friend of mine has been replacing some worn fuel lines on his 1982 R100 RS but is unsure of how to swap the Carburettor link pipe. Is there an easier option other than removing some of the body work ?
Any advice greatly appreciated. :beerjug:

82 should be the flat air filter with the plastic intake snorkels facing forward

Easiest way is to:- lift off the air box lid

set it upside down on the bench

Lift off the air filter and set it upside down on the air box lid

Lift off the clips (because they are easily knocked out and lost) and set them on top of the air filter

Then slacken the bolt that is in the centre base of the air box by about a cm (no need to completely remove and let rubbish in the gearbox)

Slacken the two forward facing bolts in the front corners (could be allen heads) by a cm and that should allow you to wiggle the new hose in to place under the air filter housing

Fit hose

Tighten and torque bolts

refit clips air filter and lid in that order and Job Job'd

Fantastic explanation, if he didn’t live 105 miles away from myself I’d go and assist.
Many thanks for your help Doc, greatly appreciated.

The correct size of hose is 6 x11 mm, if the existing hose is this size it is possible to remove and replace it without removing anything.
