this is a long shot but worth asking...

Due to a family bereavement, my daughter is flying to the UK (from NZ) on April 25th and needs a place to stay for a week (maybe 2) to process the legal stuff and sort out her dad's belongings. She's travelling with her husband and their 1 year old.

They can't afford a hotel for a long stay and prefer a place with a kitchen and toddler play space. A 3rd adult may join them for a few days to help clear the flat.

We have exhausted AirB&B - most apartments say they're not suitable for <2's or they are fully booked. I've checked campsites and letting agencies but we're struggling - I blame the royal wedding

If you own a property in the area to rent or would be willing to share your home, please get in touch asap.
They are all fully house-trained, love bikes and my granddaughter is a real cutie :angel

How far have you looked from Bristol? South Wales is only 20 minutes away across a bridge, with a good rail link to Bristol if they are not hiring a car. Looked in Gloucester? Accommodation is much cheaper there.

You mention a flat. Is this not habitable?

I have used this for short lets before https://www.holidaycottages.co.uk/
This is similar https://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/info/cottages-to-rent

Tried https://www.gumtree.com/property-to-rent/uk ?

If they don't mind sharing: https://www.spareroom.co.uk/ - I used this to find a place to stay when I changed jobs. Got on so well with the chap that we lived together for 2 years until I bought a place.

Found in under a minute on Booking.com St Michael’s Hill one bed apartment.

It may well suit you and I don’t see it getting any cheaper.

I asked for two adults, one child for eight days.

If I were you I’d use Booking.com for what it’s good for. Find something that will do but with free cancellation. Book it, so that you have now taken the pressure off yourself. Then do some more hunting, even calling up / emailing places that look OK but Booking.com says are full. They are probably / maybe not, it’s just that Booking.com have offloaded their allocation.

Thanks for the links and searches guys. Gumtree and SpareRoom were great ideas but I found nothing.

My family are on a very strict budget - they didn't plan for this trip so they're taking unpaid time off work as well as use savings they had put aside for the baby. All motels / hotels are way over their budget.

The flat is rented & the landlord is keen to clear it out (understandably). My daughter is having to pay the rent until she has sorted through the stuff & paperwork but the landlord says she & her family cannot stay in it because "it's not habitable". This could be true as he had become a recluse but my ex had a carer and a cleaner so how bad could it be... :nenau
The landlord is an organisation, not a single person so I suspect they're worried they'll become squatters

I work in social care. If the chap has been a hoarder for some time then the flat could be in quite a state.

If there is an estate then most of the costs could be charged to the estate if your daughter is acting as executor.

have a look on homes to go ,home stay you might be lucky
