For the love of all that's holy..............give that beautiful shock some sort of protection!!!

(Mudsling or Hugger)

The best money I've spent on my bikes has always been Ohlins. Amazing the difference.

ESA works with Wilbers but so far nobody else offers that service. Ohlins equivalents are rock star money.

Tractive make esa replacementshocks very good quality,

Tractive make esa replacementshocks very good quality,

Wilbers WESA-X, Touratech and Tractive electronic suspension all look suspiciously similar. Are they all rebadged Tractive units?

They are more money than swapping BMW ESA gubbins to new shocks.

Yes the Touratech units are rebadged Tractive units, but looks as if they are much cheaper buying direct from a Tractive dealer, especially for the simpler units for the earlier bikes.

Just been looking at Tractive prices at Ted Porters for a 2012 GS. he suggests junking the Preload adjustment at the front, giving a cost for both shocks of some $1900, which in my Money comes down to £1350, which brings the cost to within a stretching distance of Wilber’s on my R1200R. It’s a pity that Tractive don’t do a set for my 1200R or I would be tempted.

The 1200R can’t be THAT different can it? Can they just supply shorter shocks?

Wilbers WESA using your BMW ESA equipment are around £1000 a pair. Stripping from the bike, fitting the ESA and rebuilding the bike adds another £300 (ish) if a service agent does the work.

Good work on the Ohlins North and dumping the ESA. The difference when they are set up properly is astounding.

In case it looks like I’m favouring Wilbers over Ohlins. I am not that daft!!!
Ohlins are THE top drawer equipment.
My question is costs v benefits. Wilbers transform the bike. Can Ohlins really add the same again. And if you have ESA you lose that.

I have an email out with Tom from Tractive asking him if he can do it, his concern is whether or not he can sell enough units to make it worthwhile

Thanks,

It has really made me realize how bad my Suspension was. Now I can only describe my old Suspension as being Soupy. The Ohlins have the made the Bike a lot more fun to ride.

As far as I know, Wilbers just use a different length piston rod. They won’t suit every possible option but it can’t be that hard? Can it?

I got my "Mudsling" in the mail the other day. I picked up the box it was shipped in and thought it was empty. Talk about over-priced. I got it now, so I put it on.

Never had a reply from Tractive, so ordered from wilburs
