The spoked wheels on my GSA make it extremely difficult to get my air pump to connect to the valves to inflate tyres etc. Have seen the 90 degree adaptors on ebay for a couple of quid eg: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-CAR-M...751249?hash=item1ca36a8491:g:l3cAAOSwKOJYIG3~ my question is: is it OK to leave these fitted and ride? Does anyone ride with these fitted regularly? It seems a real faff to take them off all the time

cheers

Ah yes, I had been thinking about it from the 'might cause vibrations' side rather than the 'will leak air' part... good point, cheers.

Image the extra centrifugal force placed upon your valve body, now think what'd happen if it got ripped out at 80mph, instant deflation and then total evacuation, me thinks !

At least taking the extra 30 seconds per wheel, to fit extention, will mean you're alive.

Dinnae no....

90 degree valves

You can get 90 degree valves. Obviously you would need to fit these at the next tyre change. They have worked fine for me so far with no loss of pressure or whistling noise.

They do make it much easier to check pressures

Usual places..Wunderlich, Wudo, Horning.

Not only that. Have you ever tried to remove a brass cap that’s been on an aluminium valve stem for too long? No serious problem if you have rubber seat valves or brass valves. But not a little expensive if you have pressure sensor valves.

The angled adapters from eBay take a few seconds to fit and the garage air connector works just fine. Remove it and chuck under the seat for next time.

Use the angled arm to help tighten it onto the valve stem. Don’t leave it fitted. Wheel balance will be horrible as as @Tractors says, fatigue fracture on the valve stem will be entertaining.

If you don’t have pressure sensors then fit these. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/132275411657

Have had one of these fitted to my alloy RT rear wheel for many years - low profile and really convenient

I bought 2 off EBay for a similar price, my advice is pay more than double for a proper pair.
