r1150gsa se crown bearing question

Hello bmw bikers and experts I remember while back I bought a crown bearing its a ZEN 61917-ZZ-GL-SU-ZEN has the metal shield on it anyone used one of these on the r1150gsa or is it best to get the one from motobins ? thanks.aka sheene

The standard BM one is an Open bearing so a cage is no real obstacle "BUT" It needs to be a C3 clearance?? If not do not use it!

I've read on the ADV forum of people using these shielded bearings with no problems. But now I know how damned hot that whole assembly can become, I'd be inclined to use am open bearing.

As DrF says, definitely needs to be a C3 bearing
