Guys - I’m thinking of getting another K1200RS but this time round I want the 2001 model with the updated fairing - I know the ‘02 had servo brakes, the question is, was there a period of production with the updated fairing but without the servo ?
I know the servo can be removed, but I’d prefer not to loose the ABS.

Besides looking at the instrument panel, Servo ABS uses the pressed steel ABS rings with the punched out holes

ABS II uses cast rings which are stepped or castellated rather than holes

AS to a definitive answer Looking at it is better as the build date is more important than the registration date

On ABS II You get two lamps flashing in sync (If no fault codes) :aidan which flash on and off together until you ride off and the signals come in from the wheel sensors and the flashing stops

Switch on the ignition on a servo bike one lamp will blink rapidly 7 times as it performs its self checks and then I can't remember exactly :rob but I think one lamp remains illuminated until it "sees" the wheel sensor signals as you ride off
