Solo To Morocco - 99% Road

Will do............

Too much work

Too little riding.

I go to Spain to collect her on 9th so Ill wrap return up too........

Well, update, on return I found out I got cancer. Not great but short version is I got all clear 2 weeks ago.

Just getting my shit together generally but Ill finish this honest...............

On a positive note I have a fab scar all way round my neck, for any girls reading this was as a result of me wrestling a very large shark who was attacking an old lady.....

Night 1 I decided to splash out on deluxe accommodation. Trip Advisor said it was simple but authentic. It was authentically crap but I did sleep ok. The red cross turned up at 0800 to release us. Time to rag the K60 Scouts. I know tyres are a hyper personal thing but I love these. They wear like concrete and stick like shit to a blanket. Onwards......

Routed generally South on way to Zagora.

As I was travelling billy no mates alone I stuck to either road or what I knew were good pistes.

On the plus side I did get to hang out with the person I admire most in the world..............:)

Looking forward to the rest this - glad you're feeling better and good luck with the recovery... :beerjug:

Thanks. Been a properly tough and shit time but still managed a trip away between Op and Chemo. I'll write it up soon.....

S92 GS just pawn in game of life.....

Well the intermission sounds a bit grim, but good news your good to go! :)

Enjoyed reading this. You have conveyed the trip succinctly and yet given us a good flavour of what you covered. Thank you. Sorry to hear about ‘yr shit’ that you’ve had to deal with, but admire your attitude towards it, and wish you many more adventures.

The trip then basically consisted of Zagora Errichieda Chefchauen Fes and back to Tangier Med. As per title this was mainly on the roads with a bit of taste piste thrown in.

I'll let pics take over...........

Combination of Map and Nav 5 using bearing and distance was used.

For road trip I don't think buying electronic maps is necessary

Bit of fast piste, bit of road. I entered accommodation as Lat Long into GPS and it worked a treat.

Hearts and minds with the locals.

Bad breath was an issue being that close but I guess the camels just put up with it :)

Picking locals brains for routes etc.

These are the guys from Mohammeds in Zagora.

Other chap was wandering on a tiny track I was following purely by compass and distance. Came across a y junction so awaited a friendly local. This was on way to Chefchauen

Top Tip.

If clipping hair in hotel in Fes make sure batteries last entire duration on intended trim. I had to go into town twice like this. Once for batteries. Second time to buy clippers as batteries were not the issue. Clown

Hotel in Fes gave me....

1. Good security

2. A chance to hang out with some Blue Oyster Bar loving chaps.

Then North to ferry and to store bike in Malaga as I was returning to collect in 6 weeks so made sense to extend Morocco trip and fly home.

Throughly recommend the official BMW tour place near Malaga airport. Secure, nice people and they dropped me off and picked me up.

That's it really. Big thanks to Tim Cullis. His efforts made the trip a breeze from an admin point of view.

Kit Report.

Klim Badlands suit.

Expensive and worth every penny. This is simply way ahead of most others in build quality.

Forma Boots.

Brilliant. Waterproof. Comfy.

Spada Helmet.

I prefer to all my Arai and BMW hats I've had. Feels more comfy to me and piss cheap.

K60 Tyres

These are brilliant. 11k front. 9 k rear.

1200 GSA

No other bike I'd rather have been on.

That's it. If I can be of any help to anyone planning a trip give me a shout. Be glad to help where I can.
