Hi,
Can anybody here recommend a hotel near Caen?
Getting the early ferry back from there that leaves around 8.30 am, so anywhere within an hour or so riding time.

Many thanks.

Theres an Ibis right by the ferry port. Has a locked car park, and a bit of it is under cover.
Its not at all bad and does a decent breakfast.
The only downside (for me) is that you do get the occasional WW2 bore droning on in the bar.

Stayed here not long ago. Very civilised as you don't have to get up early and rare for France, the room rate includes breakfast.

There's a restaurant next door if you don't fancy the Ibis or do what we did, walk 10 minutes to Avenue de la Mer where there is a multitude of bars & restaurants to choose from. Seaside walk back to the hotel for a nightcap. Gallon of coffee in the morning and stuff your jacket with croissant & fruit from the "free" buffet for the ferry.
